Description: |
The comet was discovered end of October in 2013 by observations of the Catalina Sky Survey, a program specially made for searching comets and asteroids. Comet C/2013 US10 (Catalina) has its origing in the Oort cloud at the edge of our solar system, his period of orbit lasts several million years. On November 15th Catalina passed the sun and reached his maximum magnitude in December 15th at almost 6 mag. When he passed the Earth on January 17th the distance betwen Catalina and the Earth was 108 million kilometres. |
