Description:

Barnard 344 is a swirled dark molecular cloud of dust and gas in the constellation of Cygnus. It is part of the huge Gamma Cygni nebula complex surrounding the bright star Sadr. While the red-hot gas consists of emission nebulae, the blue-colored regions are reflection nebulae - reflected starlight from dense dust clouds. The Gamma Cygni Nebula is unlikely to survive the next one billion years, as most of the young stars have exploded to date, destroying the dust and driving away the gas for the most part.
