Description: |
IC410 is an emission nebula in a distance of about 12,000 light years. This giant molecular cloud of glowing gas is over 100 light years across. The young stars are only about 4 million years old. Notable near the remarkable dark dust cloud in the center of the image, are sculpting the nebula with their stellar winds. Noteworthy are two relativly dense matter streams consisting of cooler gas wiggeling away from the central region. These cosmic structures have a length of about 10 light years. They are assumed to be a star forming region. |
